The idea for the Coin Purse began as more than just a play on words. I wanted to create something that used a specifically sourced piece of hardware, that being a large circular purse clasp. I also wanted to try large scale embroidery techniques. The end product can be worn or put into a tote bag, made with solid metal hardware and all-embroidered details. There is a satisfying quality that I was trying to capture with this bag that is achieved through its manufacturing techniques.
